Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Derek Harris (ranked 910 p4p, 92 weight class) and Dennis Page (ranked 1709 p4p, 176 weight class). Harris's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Not again - You all ready dropped?. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Derek Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dennis Page!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Page fails with a takedown attempt.
Nice jab there from Harris.
Harris throws a head kick that misses.
Harris fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Page looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Page avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Page is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Page displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Harris throws out the jab.
Harris throws a body punch but Page moves out of range.
Page with a poor takedown
and Harris counters with a stiff right hand.
Harris swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Page looking to score a takedown here. Harris is defending well but Page drives through and ends up in Harris's guard.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Page is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Harris knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Page is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Harris looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Page stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Harris swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Harris is pulling down on Page's head. It's preventing any offense from Page, at least for the moment.
Page wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

That was a close round but I would say that Derek Harris will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Page closes the distance and clinches up with Harris, looking for a takedown. Page pushes Harris against the cage but Harris circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
As Page backs away, Harris returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Page fails to land the takedown.
Harris throwing a counter right hand but Page manages to avoid it.
We've been told by Harris's head coaches at Dark Corner that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Page tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Page has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Page wants to take a breather but Harris is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Derek Harris will probably get the nod.

Dennis Page gave a mention to RAGS of a RONIN in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
