The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whittaker scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Ruane looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Whittaker lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ruane at a distance.

Whittaker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Whittaker gets through Ruane's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Whittaker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
