Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lirik Chan (ranked 1413 p4p, 150 weight class) and Joao Vitor Xavier (ranked 2035 p4p, 209 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chan misses the shot to the body.
Xavier is looking to clinch but Chan is avoiding it.
A counter left hand to the body from Chan misses its target.
Xavier blocks a jab.
Chan misses with a right hand
and Xavier counters with a two punch combo.
Chan scores with the left hand. Xavier knows he should have avoided that one.
Xavier slips a straight right by Chan.
Xavier throws a jab when Chan was well out of range.
Chan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Xavier was well out of range. Poor timing from Chan.
Chan throws the left hand but Xavier avoids the punch easily.
Chan misses with a straight right.
Xavier wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chan avoids the body shot from Xavier.

and Chan counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Chan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Xavier.

Chan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Xavier.

Chan jabs Xavier to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Chan feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Xavier sprawling to the canvas! Xavier rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Chan finish him?!

Xavier is rocked!

It looks like Joao Vitor Xavier has been cut.
Lirik Chan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chan finds Xavier's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Xavier flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Chan lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Xavier will be OK.
