PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Felix Sturm (ranked 123 p4p, 23 weight class) and Lee Sang Seok (ranked 315 p4p, 42 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seok lands a right hook to the body.

Sturm lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Seok slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Sturm wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Sturm takes one to the chin there.
Seok uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sturm.
Sturm keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sturm rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Seok moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Seok tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Sturm looks to throw the jab but Seok is out of range.
Seok goes for a double leg but Sturm avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sturm continues to drive forward.

Seok fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sturm just misses with a punch to the body.
Sturm throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Seok feints the counter takedown.
Sturm throws a looping overhand right but Seok ducks down to avoid it.
Seok changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Sturm's jab looks to have found its range, popping Seok under the eye.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Seok counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Seok throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Sturm keeping moving, preventing Seok from controlling successfully.
Seok postures up and lands a big shot to Sturm's brow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lee Sang Seok will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Seok throws out a loose jab but Sturm uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Seok counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sturm won't be happy with that.
Sturm is looking to regain half guard here but Seok keeps moving and retains side control.
Sturm takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Seok is looking to take a break and control but Sturm is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sturm tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Sturm is working hard here to advance position.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Seok creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Seok lands a decent elbow from side control.
Sturm is not content to let Seok control the position.
Seok looking to control but instead Sturm has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Seok is looking to advance position but Sturm won't allow it.
Seok not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Seok looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sturm with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Seok trying to control the action but Sturm is working from the bottom.
Seok is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sturm!

Seok working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Seok is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sturm can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Seok is landing with some decent strikes but Sturm is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Oh Sturm is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Seok has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sturm's face.
A big strike lands for Seok! That's really hurt Sturm and he's turned his back - Seok keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Seok jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
