Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike McGuire (ranked 478 p4p, 77 weight class) and Rip Snorten (ranked 831 p4p, 121 weight class). McGuire's entrance music is Five Finger Death Punch - Jekyll And Hyde. A fine choice. Snorten comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sound of Silence kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Snorten avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

McGuire tightens his grip and picks Snorten up, before dumping him to the ground. Snorten manages to land in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Snorten throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

McGuire uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Snorten.

Snorten chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McGuire can pounce on him.

McGuire throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Snorten takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Snorten pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike McGuire will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
McGuire lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Snorten at a distance.
Snorten tries to clinch up but McGuire circles away and keeps his distance.
Snorten takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Snorten leaves McGuire with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McGuire lands with a thumping leg kick.
McGuire dodges the punch combination from Snorten.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGuire dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Snorten. That did some damage!
Snorten feints and then cracks McGuire's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McGuire down.
McGuire shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Snorten shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McGuire's guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Snorten working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
