PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cecil Banks (ranked 6296 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pdiddy Parker (ranked 6295 p4p, 0 weight class). Parker is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Big pump in-by JAY-Z. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cecil Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pdiddy Parker!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Banks closes the distance and clinches.

Banks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Parker lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Parker shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Banks eats them both and turns towards Parker to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Banks fails with an attempt to clinch.
Parker now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Parker lands a slapping body shot.

Parker moves into the clinch.

Banks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Parker cracks Banks with a right hand to the side of the head.

Banks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Banks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Banks not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Banks drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Banks jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Banks is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Banks throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Parker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Parker looking to control.
Parker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Banks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Banks keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Parker's head.
Banks is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Parker is adopting a defensive guard.
Parker is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Banks distracts Parker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Parker pulls Banks in close to prevent any damage.
Banks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Banks scoring with some ground and pound.
Banks is standing up over Parker. Parker looks to escape but Banks dives into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Banks moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Banks working the ground and pound.

Banks thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Parker takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Banks scores with punches from side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parker can do anything to dispel that myth.
Banks landing a few strikes.
Parker is trying to control Banks's posture but Banks avoids it.
Banks lands some shots froms side control.
Parker looks winded!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Banks has an Americana. Parker didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Banks is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Banks hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Cecil Banks!
