The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ever throws a lazy right hand but Mulvaney sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mulvaney throws a hook but Ever avoids it easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Ever misses.
Mulvaney scores with the left hand. Ever knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Best Ever has been cut.
Mulvaney lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ever circles away quickly and effectively.
Mulvaney pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ever back to the cage. Mulvaney follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Ever misses the shot to the body.
Mulvaney closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Mulvaney bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ever lands a slapping body shot.
Ever stuns Mulvaney with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Mulvaney moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Ever goes down! Can Mulvaney finish him!?


Ever is rocked!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ever can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mulvaney missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Mulvaney is looking to work some ground and pound but Ever has wrist control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Mulvaney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mulvaney in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ever has control of Mulvaney's left arm, preventing Mulvaney from doing any damage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ever working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mulvaney.
Ever really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mulvaney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mulvaney throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ever works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ever can't keep his opponent in guard - Mulvaney advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mulvaney seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ever does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Mulvaney definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Ever keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Mulvaney missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Mulvaney not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Mulvaney is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Mulvaney thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ever's head.
Mulvaney thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ever keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Mulvaney stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Mulvaney lands a jab-cross combination.


That has opened up Best Ever's cut even more.

Ever throws a predictable looking body shot
and Mulvaney counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mulvaney bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

A jab-cross combination lands for Mulvaney and sends Ever crashing to the mat! Mulvaney follows him down to the mat - Ever regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mulvaney tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ever knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Mulvaney looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ever with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Mulvaney throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Ever tumbling to the canvas!
Ever has momentary wrist control but Mulvaney slips an elbow through the middle.
Mulvaney gets to his feet and stands over Ever, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Ever felt that one! Mulvaney unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Ever from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mick Mulvaney!
Mick Mulvaney spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
