Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dean Poole (ranked 7035 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Kolokorin (ranked 7890 p4p, 0 weight class). Aleksandr Kolokorin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Poole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Aleksandr Kolokorin!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kolokorin has managed to clinch.

Kolokorin lands a takedown into guard.
Poole utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kolokorin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Poole swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Poole pulls Kolokorin in close to prevent any damage.
Kolokorin trying to control the position from guard on top but Poole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Poole managing to control the position.
Poole has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Poole keeping moving, preventing Kolokorin from controlling successfully.
Poole is pulling down on Kolokorin's head to control his posture.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Poole shoots in and gets a takedown into Kolokorin's guard.
Poole is looking to stand up but Kolokorin won't let him.
Poole stops Kolokorin from standing up.
Poole might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Poole wants to stand but Kolokorin is controlling his posture from full guard.

Poole stands and steps away. Kolokorin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kolokorin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Poole wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Kolokorin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Poole is trying to control Kolokorin's posture but Kolokorin avoids it.

Kolokorin stands up and beckons Poole to his feet.

Kolokorin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Poole has control of Kolokorin's left arm, preventing Kolokorin from doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kolokorin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Poole works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Poole is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Poole is looking to land body kicks.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kolokorin gets a takedown into half guard.
Kolokorin is thwarting Poole's attempts to control the position.
Kolokorin trying to control the pace.
Kolokorin misses with a head shot. Poole uses the momentum to regain guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Poole pulls Kolokorin in to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aleksandr Kolokorin dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Kolokorin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Poole is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Poole.
Poole wants to control but Kolokorin is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Poole could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kolokorin wants to stand but Poole has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kolokorin decides to stand up.

Kolokorin has managed to clinch.
Kolokorin is looking to control Poole's arms but Poole gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kolokorin has his back to the cage.

Kolokorin jumps into guard, dragging Poole to the mat.
Poole is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Kolokorin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kolokorin has a closed guard, preventing Poole from standing up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Poole stands and steps away. Kolokorin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kolokorin is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Poole has his hands clasped together but Kolokorin extends and breaks Poole's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kolokorin.
