The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soleh slips a jab and a cross from Perkins.
Perkins tries to clinch up.
Hector Perkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Perkins changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Perkins misses with a wild combination.

and Soleh counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Soleh is trying to drag Perkins to the mat but Perkins just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Soleh flicks out a counter leg kick but Perkins steps away.
Soleh will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Soleh goes for a double leg but Perkins avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Perkins continues to drive forward.

Perkins avoids the body shot from Soleh.
Perkins seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Soleh fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Perkins leaves Soleh with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Soleh moves into the clinch.
Soleh is pressed up against the cage. Perkins has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Soleh down to the mat. Soleh avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Soleh turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Soleh manages to end up in side control.

Soleh goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Perkins rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Soleh's guard! Nice work there by Perkins!

Soleh wants to get back to full guard.
Soleh is looking to escape.
Perkins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Soleh with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Soleh is pushing Perkins up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Perkins changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Soleh fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Soleh jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Perkins walks away with a smile on his face. Soleh gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Perkins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Soleh circles away quickly and effectively.
Soleh tries to counter with a clinch but Perkins shakes him off and moves away.
Perkins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Soleh sprawls well. Soleh wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Perkins gets slowly back to his feet.
Perkins connects with a body shot that sends Soleh's belly button to the back.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Perkins accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Soleh is pulling down on Perkins's head to control his posture.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Perkins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Soleh has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Perkins has managed to get both his arms back between Soleh's legs - danger averted.

Perkins has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Soleh will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Perkins up against the cage.
Perkins is trying to break the clinch but Soleh is controlling him.

Soleh lands strikes from half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Soleh in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Soleh seems to be looking for submissions.
Perkins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Perkins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Perkins is trying to maintain the position but Soleh is very close to passing his half guard.
Soleh is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Perkins!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Perkins wants to control but Soleh is having none of it.
Soleh takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Soleh goes for an armbar but Perkins turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Perkins.
Soleh has control of Perkins's left arm, preventing Perkins from doing any damage.
Ahmad Soleh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Soleh will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
