Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roosevelt Coleman (ranked 544 p4p, 69 weight class) and Arnold Layne (ranked 1738 p4p, 208 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Roosevelt Coleman!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arnold Layne!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Layne manages to avoid it.
A countering left hand to the body from Layne misses.
Layne shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


It looks like Arnold Layne has been cut.
Layne rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Coleman to counter with a crisp jab.
Layne jabs Coleman right on the nose. Coleman blinks but takes it well.
Coleman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Layne's waist but Layne gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Coleman off to one side.

and Layne counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Coleman throws a nice inside leg kick.
Coleman walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Coleman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Coleman makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Coleman gets through Layne's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.


That has opened up Arnold Layne's cut even more.

Coleman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Layne slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Coleman throws the left hand but Layne avoids the punch easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Layne! But no joy.
Layne lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Layne darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Layne doesn't manage to clinch there - Coleman circles away.
Layne smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Coleman blocks a jab.
As Layne backs away, Coleman returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Coleman moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Layne has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Layne has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Coleman turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Layne lands a nice shot to the body.
Layne is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Coleman had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Coleman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Layne.

A close round but Arnold Layne will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Layne manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Coleman keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Coleman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Coleman feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Layne sprawling to the canvas! Layne rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Coleman finish him?!


Layne is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Coleman with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Coleman closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Layne out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roosevelt Coleman!
Roosevelt Coleman retains his heavyweight title!
A relieved looking Roosevelt Coleman thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
