The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andre leaves Fitzpatrick with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Andre.

Fitzpatrick closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Andre's guard.

Fitzpatrick forces his way into half guard.

Fitzpatrick wants to work for an arm triangle but Andre is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Andre is trying to stand up here but Fitzpatrick is controlling him well.

Fitzpatrick is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Andre is just riding it out for now. Fitzpatrick eventually gives up the hold.
