Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitriy Voznesenskiy!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sosa dives in and grabs Voznesenskiy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Voznesenskiy pushes down on Sosa's head and hops out.

Voznesenskiy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sosa did well to prevent Voznesenskiy getting side control.
Sosa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sosa looks like he's trying to stand up.
Voznesenskiy seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Voznesenskiy decides to return to a standing position.
Voznesenskiy goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Voznesenskiy lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sosa's sensitive parts.
Voznesenskiy tries to clinch up but Sosa circles away and keeps his distance.

Sosa tries to sprawl but Voznesenskiy drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Sosa is looking to escape.

Sosa is looking to control Voznesenskiy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sosa avoid being mounted?
Sosa wants to get back to his feet.
Voznesenskiy is trying to control the action in half guard but Sosa is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sosa is looking to escape.
Well, if Voznesenskiy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Sosa wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Voznesenskiy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Voznesenskiy wants to stand up but Sosa manages to regain full guard.

Sosa is trying to keep Voznesenskiy in close.

Sosa pushes Voznesenskiy off and gets back to his feet.
Voznesenskiy throws a sloppy head kick

and Sosa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Sosa could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Voznesenskiy throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Sosa prevents Voznesenskiy from getting back to his feet.

Sosa decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Voznesenskiy tries a low kick but Sosa avoids it.
Voznesenskiy throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Voznesenskiy tries to clinch but Sosa moves out of range.
Voznesenskiy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Some bone on bone action there as Sosa checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Voznesenskiy explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Sosa misses with a takedown attempt - Voznesenskiy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Voznesenskiy throws a big counter head kick but Sosa avoids it with no problem.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Voznesenskiy misses with a head kick.
Voznesenskiy lands a high kick!
Voznesenskiy tries to clinch there but Sosa circles away.
It looked like Sosa was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Voznesenskiy.

Voznesenskiy tries to sprawl but Sosa drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Sosa is working for a kimura but Voznesenskiy is defending it quite comfortably.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sosa is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dmitriy Voznesenskiy will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Sosa fails with the takedown.
Sosa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sosa wants to stay close but Voznesenskiy steps back to make room for something. Sosa seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Voznesenskiy and Sosa drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Dmitriy Voznesenskiy!
