Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Estrada (ranked 24338 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Altumara (ranked 6190 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Xavier Estrada has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Xavier Estrada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vince Altumara!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Estrada gets caught napping as Altumara dives in and scores a takedown. Estrada manages to retain guard.

Altumara is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Estrada wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Altumara stays in close to Estrada's body and controls the position.

Estrada is looking for a triangle but Altumara pushes his legs off easily.
Altumara trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Altumara wants to control from the top but Estrada keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Altumara working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Estrada's head.

Estrada is pulling down on Altumara's head. It's preventing any offense from Altumara, at least for the moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Altumara fails with the takedown.

Altumara manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Estrada on his heels. He'll look to pass Estrada's guard now, I'm sure.
Estrada is pulling down on Altumara's head to control his posture.

It looks like Altumara might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Estrada really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Altumara manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Estrada on his heels. He'll look to pass Estrada's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Altumara is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Altumara stands and steps away. Estrada gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Estrada closes the distance and pushes Altumara back into the cage.

Altumara has Estrada pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Altumara pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Estrada tumbling to the mat - Altumara dives into Estrada's guard.

Altumara shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Estrada sprawls well. Estrada wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Altumara gets slowly back to his feet.

Altumara decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Estrada, up you get!

Estrada changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Estrada feinted there with a counter leg kick.

and Estrada counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Vince Altumara is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Altumara pushes Estrada off but Estrada dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Altumara sneaks back into half guard.
Estrada takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Altumara is trying to control but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Altumara escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Estrada gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Altumara manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Estrada manages to get himself to full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Estrada holds on and takes a little breather.

Altumara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Altumara misses with a takedown attempt - Estrada sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Estrada counters with a nice uppercut.
Altumara shoots in for a double leg but Estrada sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Altumara looks to score with a jab to the body but Estrada is just out of range.
Estrada is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Altumara throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Estrada moves into the clinch successfully.
Altumara jumps guard but Estrada turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Estrada tries to score a body lock takedown but Altumara shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Estrada pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Estrada throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Altumara's head.
