Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ross Kemp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gilberto Chamba!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kemp throws a lazy uppercut
and Chamba counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Ross Kemp has been cut.
Kemp walks forward, straight into a front kick from Chamba.
Chamba ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kemp moves away.
Chamba slips under a jab from Kemp.
We've been told by Kemp's head coaches at Big Bear Fight Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kemp throws out a loose jab but Chamba uses good head movement to avoid it.
Chamba uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kemp.
We've been informed that Chamba has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Chamba pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kemp fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Chamba on the side of the head.


It looks like Gilberto Chamba has been cut.
Chamba fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kemp.
Kemp moves into range and connects with a jab.
Chamba tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kemp was well out of range. Poor timing from Chamba.

Kemp scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Chamba to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Kemp away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Chamba got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kemp misses with a straight left.
Chamba misses with a head kick.
Chamba lands with a kick to the temple. Kemp shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chamba defending well as Kemp loads up on a big left hand.
A left lands for Kemp.


That has opened up Gilberto Chamba's cut even more.
Gilberto Chamba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kemp uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chamba.
Kemp waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chamba.
Chamba doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Kemp scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Chamba beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.
Chamba misses the shot to the body.
An attempted straight right counter from Kemp misses the target.
Chamba blocks a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chamba misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kemp swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Kemp is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Chamba misses with a head kick.

Kemp cracks Chamba with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Chamba get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Chamba looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!
Chamba throws a lazy head kick
and Kemp counters with a big right hand that sends Chamba crashing to the mat! He's very wobbly - can he beat the count?! 5,6,7,8... he's up! No, he's down again! 9,10! He's done! The referee calls an end to the bout - Kemp takes it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Ross Kemp!
After winning the bout, Ross Kemp thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
