PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Zimmerman (ranked 2370 p4p, 318 weight class) and Raistlin Lovelair (ranked 5515 p4p, 591 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Frankie Zimmerman has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Frankie Zimmerman seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie Zimmerman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raistlin Lovelair!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Zimmerman checks a leg kick.
Zimmerman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lovelair moves away.
Lovelair moves forwards but Zimmerman connects with a nice, crisp jab.


It looks like Raistlin Lovelair has been cut.

Lovelair shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Zimmerman is trying to defend but Lovelair finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Lovelair is working for a kimura but Zimmerman is defending it quite comfortably.
Zimmerman is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zimmerman kicks off Lovelair and gets to his feet.

Zimmerman has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lovelair accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Zimmerman kicks Lovelair off and gets to his feet.

Zimmerman is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lovelair has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Lovelair tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lovelair has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zimmerman wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Lovelair is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zimmerman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Zimmerman is pushing Lovelair's head away, looking to escape. Lovelair manages to hold on to the position though.

Lovelair tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zimmerman was well out of range. Poor timing from Lovelair.
Lovelair is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zimmerman.
Zimmerman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lovelair can do to turn this around?

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Lovelair is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Lovelair walks forward, straight into a front kick from Zimmerman.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Zimmerman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
