Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oswald Cobblepot (ranked 2271 p4p, 302 weight class) and Tom Vos (ranked 5174 p4p, 563 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oswald Cobblepot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Vos!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobblepot swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Vos.
Vos doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Vos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Cobblepot connects with an inside leg kick.
Vos fails with the takedown
and Cobblepot counters with a leg kick.

Vos is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cobblepot's half guard.

Vos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Vos is trying to work for a kimura but Cobblepot is defending well.

Vos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cobblepot is just riding it out for now. Vos eventually gives up the hold.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Vos is pressing down on Cobblepot's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cobblepot is holding on for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Vos closes the distance and clinches up with Cobblepot, looking for a takedown. Vos pushes Cobblepot against the cage but Cobblepot circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Oswald Cobblepot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Vos.
Vos throws a sloppy head kick and Cobblepot moves out of range easily.
Cobblepot thumps Vos with a low kick.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A clash of legs there as Vos blocks the low kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vos is defended easily by Cobblepot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Oswald Cobblepot will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Vos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cobblepot's waist but Cobblepot gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vos off to one side.
Vos on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Vos takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Vos darts in trying to clinch
and Cobblepot counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Cobblepot.
Vos throws an off balance right hand
and Cobblepot cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Vos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Vos swings around for an armbar but Cobblepot sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Vos's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cobblepot is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Vos looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Cobblepot puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Cobblepot is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vos can do to turn this around?

Vos moves into full guard.

Vos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Vos throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Tom Vos has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cobblepot controlling from the top position.
Vos pulls Cobblepot in close to his closed guard and prevents Cobblepot from doing any damage or advancing position.
Cobblepot has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Vos throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cobblepot escapes and throws Vos's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Vos isn't going anywhere.
You can see the frustration on Vos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Cobblepot decides to stand up, so the ref orders Vos to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vos.
Oswald Cobblepot is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Cobblepot counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Oswald Cobblepot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Vos.
Vos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cobblepot but Cobblepot pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cobblepot tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vos was well out of range. Poor timing from Cobblepot.

Cobblepot lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


It looks like Tom Vos has been cut.
Tom Vos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Vos looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Cobblepot makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Vos thows a huge punch but Cobblepot dodges it nicely.

Vos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cobblepot's head.

Vos unloads with some shots from mount but Cobblepot bucks and avoids them well.
Oswald Cobblepot is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Vos scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Cobblepot?
Cobblepot is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Vos scoring with strikes but Cobblepot is staying in there.
Vos sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Vos moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cobblepot has worked his arm free - good work by Cobblepot!
Vos throwing strikes but Cobblepot manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Vos is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cobblepot's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Vos is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cobblepot pulls his head out easily.

Vos takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Cobblepot perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Vos looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Cobblepot pushes past his half guard into mount!
Cobblepot avoids the attempt from Vos to control.
Tom Vos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cobblepot controlling the pace for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vos wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Cobblepot just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

I would just about give that final round to Tom Vos.
I think Cobblepot has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
