Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Brewer (ranked 256 p4p, 29 weight class) and Dementri Viscount (ranked 557 p4p, 63 weight class). Brewer comes to the cage accompanied by Gangster's Paradise. Viscount has chosen Kool Keith - Still the Best as his entrance music. Frank Brewer had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Brewer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dementri Viscount!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viscount is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brewer.
Brewer misses with a kick to the body.
Brewer scores with a nice right hand.
Brewer with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Viscount to score with a decent uppercut.
A leg kick checked by Viscount.
Good exchange - Viscount coming out on top.
Viscount throws a body shot but no joy.

Viscount has managed to clinch.
A right hand to the body from Brewer.
Brewer avoiding damage.

Viscount pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Brewer looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Brewer misses with a wild body shot.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Brewer, right into the meat.
Brewer looks to score with a jab to the body but Viscount is just out of range.
Viscount tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Brewer tries to land a front kick but Viscount steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A solid leg kick lands there for Brewer.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A cross from Viscount lands.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brewer avoids the body shot from Viscount.
Brewer throws a leg kick that is checked

and Viscount counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brewer won't be happy with that.
Viscount throws a strike aimed at the side of Brewer's head but Brewer avoids it well.
Viscount in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Viscount throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Viscount wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brewer, who protects the arm well.
Viscount looking to control but instead Brewer has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Brewer wants to get back to full guard.
Viscount is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Brewer takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Viscount is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Brewer is surviving well by controlling Viscount's body position as best he can.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brewer wants to hold on but Viscount pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Viscount has control of Brewer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Brewer regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Brewer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Viscount with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Brewer tries to hold on but Viscount postures up.
Brewer really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Viscount moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Brewer has worked his arm free - good work by Brewer!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Viscount goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Brewer has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Viscount but great work by Brewer.

Viscount is looking for a sweep.

Viscount wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Brewer has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Viscount's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Viscount is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Brewer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Frank Brewer!

An out of breath Frank Brewer thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
