Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Wally Backman (ranked 8092 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atlantis Lemurian (ranked 8946 p4p, 329 weight class). Atlantis Lemurian is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Atlantis Lemurian!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Backman tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Lemurian counters with a single leg into guard. Backman didn't expect that.

Lemurian trying to control the position from guard on top but Backman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Backman can't keep his opponent in guard - Lemurian advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Backman trying to control from the bottom.

Lemurian is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Backman defends it well.
Lemurian is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Backman is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Lemurian jumps into side control!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lemurian tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lemurian has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Backman is trying to get back to half guard.
My spies in Main Event inform me that Lemurian has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Lemurian working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Lemurian is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Backman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Backman is looking to reverse the position.

Lemurian thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Lemurian is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Backman has escaped the position, nice work there.

Lemurian looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Backman is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lemurian's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Lemurian! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Backman has tapped! This one is allllll over!
