PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Alexander Berkman (ranked 20219 p4p, 750 weight class) and Victor Sharp (ranked 648 p4p, 94 weight class). Berkman comes into the arena with Panopticon - The Ghosts of Haymarket Square blaring out of the sound system. Sharp has chosen Immortal Technique-Cause Of Death as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Victor Sharp has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berkman misses with a body shot
and Sharp counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Berkman tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Sharp manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Berkman has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Berkman there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nice uppercut there from Sharp.
Sharp throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sharp digs a good body shot into Berkman's ribs.
Sharp cracks Berkman with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Berkman get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Berkman looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!
Berkman is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Berkman wants to clinch
and Sharp counters with a straight right that drops Berkman to the canvas! Will Berkman beat the count? He's still wobbly and as the count reaches 7, he's still struggling to make it. 8...9...10. He's out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Victor Sharp!
