Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Julian Gniewek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elijah David!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gniewek is looking to clinch.
David misses with a body shot.
Gniewek tries to clinch up but David circles away and keeps his distance.
David tries a quick counter leg kick but Gniewek is wise to it.
David throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Gniewek is looking to counter the offense by David and move into the clinch.
David fakes the leg kick and cracks Gniewek in the body.
Gniewek is looking to clinch.
Good work by Gniewek as he checks the leg kick.
A little feinted left hand from Gniewek on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
David throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gniewek misses with a left hand
and David counters with a stiff right hand.
David misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Gniewek counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
David blocks a jab.
Gniewek showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from David.
Gniewek blocks a head kick by David.
Gniewek swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Elijah David seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
David swings away with a body shot that misses
and Gniewek counters with a stiff right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.

David instigates a clinch.
David creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by David as Gniewek tries to tie him up.
Gniewek blocking some punches.
David misses with an elbow strike.
Gniewek lands with a short shot to the head.
Gniewek is pushing David up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
David lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Gniewek successfully pulls guard.

Gniewek working for submissions but it's allowed David to get to half guard.
Gniewek tries to get to full guard but David has control of the leg.
Gniewek is trying to defend against the ground and pound but David scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice strikes from David there.
David slips a nice elbow through Gniewek's hands, connecting with Gniewek's forehead.
Ground and pound from David.
David landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
David is looking to take a break and control but Gniewek is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gniewek is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at mickeyharts the greatest , so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Gniewek is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. David connects with a nice short shot to Gniewek's temple.

Gniewek is trying to control but can't.
Gniewek is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of David's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take David's back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
David breaks Gniewek's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
David makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
David wants to control from the top but Gniewek keeps moving.
Gniewek looking to control.
David won't allow Gniewek to sweep him here.

David is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gniewek has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. David is looking to defend but Gniewek has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for David! Gniewek pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, David taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Julian Gniewek!
