The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minasian lunges at Tanaka with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tanaka's hand.
Tanaka fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Minasian on the side of the head.

We've been informed that Minasian has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Tanaka misses with a body shot.
Minasian gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Minasian moves into range and clinches up with Tanaka.

Tanaka decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Minasian, up you get!

Tanaka cracks Minasian with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Tanaka has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Minasian to stand back up!

It looks like Levon Minasian has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tanaka sends Minasian crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Tanaka is motioning to the referee to let Minasian up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Minasian is rocked!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Tanaka engages and cracks Minasian with a massive lead left hook - Minasian tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Tanaka is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
