Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Taiga Jim (ranked 282 p4p, 35 weight class) and Sergey Sklemin (ranked 403 p4p, 54 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taiga Jim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Sklemin!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by Jim.
Jim looks to throw the jab but Sklemin is out of range.
Sklemin lands with a hook. Jim tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Jim takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Jim fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sklemin to the ground. Jim is now in Sklemin's guard.

Jim seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sklemin told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Jim seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sklemin for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jim digs a right hand into Sklemin's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Sklemin's gas tank.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jim shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jim seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sklemin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jim working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

A little feinted left hand from Jim on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Jim.
Jim shoots for a takedown but Sklemin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Despite the aggression on Sklemin's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Sergey Sklemin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sklemin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Sklemin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jim at a distance.
Sklemin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Jim looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Jim lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Sklemin dips to his left and cracks Jim with an uppercut!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Sklemin throws a hook but Jim blocks it.

Jim gets a takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Taiga Jim will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Sklemin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sklemin seems to have recovered his senses.

Jim moves into the clinch successfully.

Jim swings wildly with an uppercut but Sklemin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jim lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Jim unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Sklemin! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Jim is unloading with more strikes now! Sklemin drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Taiga Jim!
During a confident post fight interview, Taiga Jim thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
