PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Ferguson (ranked 3690 p4p, 419 weight class) and Harry Potter (ranked 24364 p4p, 691 weight class). Ferguson comes to the cage accompanied by The Party Has Just Begun. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Harry Potter enters the cage!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Harry Potter!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson lunges at Potter with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Potter's hand.
Potter wants to clinch up but Ferguson keeps it at a distance.
Nice shot lands for Ferguson.
Ferguson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Potter tries to clinch
and Ferguson counters with a right hand to the body.
Ferguson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Potter has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Sloppy strikes from Ferguson. Those never looked like landing.
Ferguson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Potter has time to react.
Potter doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ferguson counters with a stiff right hand.
Potter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ferguson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ferguson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ferguson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ferguson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ferguson lands an overhand right.
Ferguson connects with a body shot.
Potter has his takedown stuffed

and Ferguson counters with a crisp one two that drops Potter! Ferguson thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Potter to his feet! Potter is in big trouble!

Potter is rocked!
Potter throws a left and a right that both miss

and Ferguson counters with a nice right hand that sends Potter toppling to the canvas! Potter scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Ferguson finish him?!
Potter is still on wobbly legs! Can Ferguson finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Potter gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Ferguson gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
