Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Harry Grout!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tank Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shamrock forces Grout back against the cage and clinches.
Shamrock tries to score a body lock takedown but Grout shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
We've been informed that Shamrock has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Grout prevents the takedown attempt.
Shamrock throws a punch but it's blocked by Grout.

Grout misses with a hook from the clinch.
Shamrock tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Grout's elbow.
Grout makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Shamrock closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Grout's guard.

Grout is working an open guard so Shamrock takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Shamrock tries to clinch but Grout moves away
and Grout counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Shamrock avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Grout lands a really nice looking cross but Shamrock seems unphased.
Grout scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Shamrock takes a swing at Grout's ribcage but misses.

Grout appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Grout ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Shamrock darts in and clinches Grout up against the cage.
Shamrock tries to work over Grout's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Shamrock pushes Grout back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

and Shamrock connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Grout throws a good cross that connects.
That kick from Grout tenderised Shamrock's leg. Shamrock is trying to keep his angry face on.
Shamrock tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Grout was well out of range. Poor timing from Shamrock.
It looked like Grout was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Shamrock throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Grout slips a jab from Shamrock.

Shamrock jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Grout throws a half hearted mid kick.
Shamrock now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Grout takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Tank Shamrock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Shamrock does no damage.
Grout doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
No joy there for Grout, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shamrock wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Shamrock slips under a jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Grout looks to land a left hand but Shamrock moved out of range nicely.
Grout throws a body shot but no joy.

Shamrock shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Grout is trying to defend but Shamrock finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Grout is refusing to be controlled, as Shamrock sits in half guard.
Shamrock is pressing down on Grout's thigh, looking to free his foot. Grout is holding on for now.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tank Shamrock dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Grout fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shamrock looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Shamrock avoids the body shot from Grout.
Shamrock throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shamrock misses the shot to the body.
A jab from Shamrock finds it's way through Grout's defenses.
Grout avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Grout moves out of range of the strikes.
Grout is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Shamrock lands a glancing blow to the side of Grout's head.

Grout lands a left and a right that send Shamrock crashing to the mat, dazed. Grout thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shamrock lunges at Grout with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Grout's hand.

Shamrock takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


That has opened up Tank Shamrock's cut even more.
Grout loads up on a big right hand but Shamrock slips the punch.
Shamrock fails in his attempt to clinch.
Grout seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

A telegraphed right hand from Grout misses the target.
It seemed like Shamrock was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A big left from Grout misses.
Grout misses with a looping left.
Shamrock tries to clinch up.
Shamrock misses the shot to the body.
Shamrock fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Grout looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Shamrock bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Grout's head backwards.

Oh Grout is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Grout seems to have got his legs back now.

Shamrock cracks Grout with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Shamrock has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Grout to stand back up!

Grout throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Shamrock gets a double leg takedown into Grout's guard.
Grout utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Shamrock wants to pass the guard but Grout is keeping the position.
Grout is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shamrock is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Shamrock has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Grout not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Shamrock wants to control from the top but Grout keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Shamrock shoots in and drives through. Grout sprawls well.
As Shamrock looks to move away, Grout throws a big counter combo but Shamrock just gets out of the way.

and Shamrock counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Shamrock digs a good hook to Grout's body.
Grout takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Grout doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Shamrock drops Grout with a big left hand! Grout is injured, injured bad! Shamrock jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Tank Shamrock really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Red Light Coffeeshop logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
