PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocket Bob Frankels (ranked 114 p4p, 12 weight class) and Ricardo Castillo (ranked 310 p4p, 41 weight class). Frankels comes to the cage accompanied by Dawn....Summer Solstice... . Ricardo Castillo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricardo Castillo!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frankels is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Castillo.
Frankels has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Castillo looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Frankels wants to control for a moment but Castillo uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Castillo.
Castillo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Frankels on the side of the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Frankels stands up over Castillo, holding on to his feet. Frankels throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Castillo is out cold! Frankels lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rocket Bob Frankels!
