The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes has closed the distance and engaged Boyka in a clinch.
Hayes is fighting off a takedown attempt but Boyka is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hayes to the mat. Hayes regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boyka wants to control the position but Hayes says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
