Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buster Napoleon (ranked 674 p4p, 82 weight class) and Three Dog (ranked 901 p4p, 103 weight class). Dog is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Fallout. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buster Napoleon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Three Dog!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Napoleon throws a lazy body kick
and Dog counters with a straight right hand.
A slapping leg kick lands for Napoleon.
Napoleon walks into a straight right hand from Dog.


It looks like Buster Napoleon has been cut.
Napoleon throws a jab when Dog was well out of range.
Napoleon takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Napoleon ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Napoleon cracks Dog with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


It looks like Three Dog has been cut.
Buster Napoleon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Napoleon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Napoleon misses with a wild combination.
Napoleon looks to land a left hand but Dog moved out of range nicely.

Dog takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Dog steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Napoleon. That one must have hurt.
Dog throws a hook to the side of Napoleon's head but Napoleon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Napoleon lets loose with a powerful body kick. Dog will feel that in the morning.

Dog doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Napoleon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dog is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Napoleon.

Napoleon scores with a shot to the body.
Donk. Napoleon catches Dog right on the button with a cross.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Napoleon lands a leg kick that knocks Dog off balance momentarily.
Napoleon with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Napoleon walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dog checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Napoleon throws the kick towards the body but Dog avoids it.

Napoleon throws a low kick but it's checked well by Dog.
Dog only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Napoleon misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Dog cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dog takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Napoleon misses with a jab to the body
and Dog connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Napoleon moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Napoleon scores with a sloppy right hand. Dog should have avoided that one.
Napoleon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dog moves away.
Dog feints a counter leg kick.
Three Dog is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Napoleon checks a low kick from Dog.
Napoleon thuds a left hand into Dog's body.
Napoleon throws a looping overhand right but Dog ducks down to avoid it.
Napoleon lands a nice hook to Dog's body. Dog takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Dog connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Dog has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Napoleon.
Napoleon sizes up Dog with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Napoleon chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Dog might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Dog swings for the body but Napoleon moves out of range.
Napoleon appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Napoleon lands with a right hand.
A jab from Dog misses.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dog, as that shot connected.
Dog is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Napoleon had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Dog misses with a low kick.
Napoleon throws a nice outside leg kick.
Dog slips under a jab from Napoleon.
Napoleon misses with an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buster Napoleon dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Napoleon connects with a leg kick. Dog looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Dog misses with a hook.
Dog throws a chopping leg kick but Napoleon manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Dog's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Napoleon bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dog's head.
Napoleon throws a lazy uppercut
and Dog counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Napoleon misses with a body punch
and Dog connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Napoleon thuds a left hand into Dog's body.
Dog avoids the body shot from Napoleon.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Napoleon fails to land with a series of punches.
Napoleon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dog can do to turn this around?
Napoleon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Napoleon closes the distance and clinches.

Napoleon tries to work over Dog's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Dog wants to get back to striking at distance but Napoleon won't allow it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Napoleon as Dog tries to tie him up.
Dog's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Napoleon dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Napoleon pulls guard successfully.

Napoleon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Napoleon keeping moving, preventing Dog from controlling successfully.

Dog stands and throws Napoleon's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Napoleon gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Napoleon tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Napoleon tries to lock up and control but Dog gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Dog tries to control but Napoleon wriggling away.

Dog working for a guillotine from mount but Napoleon is in no mood to give up.
Dog sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Let's hope that Dog has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Dog jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Napoleon manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Dog is looking to take a break and control but Napoleon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Napoleon tries to improve position but can't.

Dog wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Napoleon, who protects the arm well.
Napoleon tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Napoleon stops Dog from passing to mount.

Dog tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Napoleon gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dog is keen to just control but Napoleon is a slippery customer.
Napoleon is looking for a sweep. Dog is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Dog is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Napoleon is just riding it out for now. Dog eventually gives up the hold.
Napoleon won't allow Dog to pass to mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Napoleon is trying to control but can't.

Dog is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Buster Napoleon will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Dog has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Napoleon finds it's way round the side to connect with Dog's head.

Napoleon was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and Dog counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Napoleon lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Napoleon moves into the clinch.
Napoleon misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Dog is pushing Napoleon up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Napoleon throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Napoleon digs a good body shot into Dog's ribs.
Napoleon moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Dog throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Napoleon sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Dog throws out a counter right but Napoleon avoids it with no problem.
Dog stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Napoleon.

Buster Napoleon's cut is getting worse.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Napoleon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Good leg kick by Napoleon there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Buster Napoleon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

and Napoleon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Napoleon throws a front kick aimed at Dog's knee but Dog avoids it well.
Napoleon connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Napoleon feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dog's calf.

Dog has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Napoleon thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dog if he has to take too many more of those.
Dog avoids a punch combination nicely.
Napoleon's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dog under the eye.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

It looks like Napoleon has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Napoleon lunges at Dog with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dog's hand.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Napoleon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
