Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Savage (ranked 7741 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Magnolia (ranked 7476 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage dips to his left and cracks Magnolia with an uppercut!
No joy there for Savage, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Savage has taken the fight to the clinch.

Savage breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Savage with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Magnolia keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Savage.
Savage moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Savage lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Savage drives through and clinches with Magnolia against the cage.
Savage lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Magnolia wants to take the fight to the mat but Savage manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Savage pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Savage thuds his right hand into Magnolia's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Savage will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Savage is looking to land body kicks.
Magnolia with the counter takedown but Savage avoids it easily.
Savage lands with a hook. Magnolia tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Magnolia looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Savage throws an overhand right that lands on Magnolia's shoulder, as Magnolia tries to avoid the shot.
Savage uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Magnolia has time to react.
Savage misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Magnolia slips nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magnolia seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Savage does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Magnolia uses his free foot to push down on Savage's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Savage.
