We've been told by Jotkiewicz's head coaches at CHRISTOPHERS MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

The Gladiator uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Jotkiewicz has time to react.

The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!

Jotkiewicz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

The Gladiator cracks Jotkiewicz with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Jotkiewicz get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Jotkiewicz looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!

and The Gladiator counters with a perfectly timed counter left hook that drops Jotkiewicz to the mat, face first! The Gladiator goes to the neutral corner and waits for the referee to start the count. Jotkiewicz is back to hise feet already though and looking to continue the bout! Exciting stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jotkiewicz walks into a big right hand from The Gladiator and goes down! The referee sends The Gladiator to a neutral corner as Jotkiewicz gets back to his feet. He looks OK so we're back under way.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
