The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shield clinches.
Shield misses with a hook from the clinch.
Shield jumps guard.
Hodges in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hodges throws a strike but Shield rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Shield passes into half guard.
Hodges keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Shield is looking for a kimura here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shield thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hodges looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Shield lands a nice short elbow.

Shield lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Shield's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hodges could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Shield lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Shield gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shield seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Shield is looking to advance position but Hodges won't allow it.

Hodges manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Shield keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shield lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Geraldo Hodges has been cut.
Shield escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shield closes the distance and clinches.
A nice right hand lands inside from Shield.

Still in the clinch, Shield scores with a nice short uppercut.
Oh Hodges is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shield lands a big knee to the head and Hodges goes down! Shield pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
