Cortez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Wake Me Up. Rafael Cortez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moon takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Moon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cortez tries a head kick but it misses.
Moon connects with a crisp jab.

It looks like Rafael Cortez has been cut.
Moon checks a low kick from Cortez.
Moon lands with a right hand.
Moon looks to land a left hand but Cortez moved out of range nicely.
A little jabbing left from Cortez on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Moon dives in for a single leg takedown but Cortez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Cortez moves out of range as Moon strikes.
Moon tries to bum rush Cortez with a series of wild strikes but Cortez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Moon misses with a hook.
Cortez throws a big counter head kick but Moon avoids it with no problem.
Moon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rafael Cortez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moon connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Cortez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cortez looks to throw the jab but Moon is out of range.
Moon misses with a two punch combination.
Cortez only half commits to the counter leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cortez buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Cortez finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Horrible takedown attempt by Moon or perhaps it was just good defense by Cortez, which made it look bad.
Cortez smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Moon won't allow Cortez to sweep him here.
Moon trying to control the position from guard on top but Cortez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Moon content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Cortez has locked up a guillotine! Cortez's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Moon is holding on here and Cortez must be using up a lot of energy. Moon has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Cortez gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
