The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Darwin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hicks slips under a jab.
Hicks throws a right hand that misses
and Darwin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Darwin tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hicks counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hicks scores with a nice strike.
Darwin throws a nice inside leg kick.
Hicks punishes Darwin's body with a nice straight punch.
Hicks moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hicks throws an off balance right hand
and Darwin counters with a nice uppercut.
Darwin throws a right hand that misses
and Hicks counters with a nice uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Darwin looks to throw the jab but Hicks is out of range.
Hicks chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Darwin can pounce on him.
Darwin digs a good hook to Hicks's body.
Charlie Darwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hicks takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Darwin scores with a shot to the body.
Hicks is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Darwin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Darwin looks to throw the jab but Hicks is out of range.
Hicks is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Darwin.
Darwin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
