Coming up we have a super heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Georgy Fokin (ranked 290 p4p, 0 weight class) and Poto Tupu (ranked 2354 p4p, 68 weight class). Tupu has chosen Youth Of The Nation as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 2 losses; Georgy Fokin! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 2 losses; Poto Tupu!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Tupu is looking to take this one to the mat.

We've been hearing good reports from Fokin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Tupu is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Tupu wants to control but Fokin manages to buck him off and is now in Tupu's guard! Nice work there by Fokin!

Fokin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tupu is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Tupu controls Fokin momentarily but Fokin frees himself.
Tupu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tupu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fokin's guard.

Fokin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Tupu passes into half guard.

Fokin regains full guard. Nicely done.

Fokin wants to improve his position but instead Tupu has moved into half guard.
Tupu is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Tupu wants to control the pace but Fokin is squirming around nicely.
Fokin is trying to escape the mount but Tupu keeps good control and instead manages to take Fokin's back.

Tupu has his arm under Fokin's chin here. Game over son! Tupu squeezes tightly and Fokin is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 10:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Poto Tupu!
