Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Randall Steve (ranked 1063 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elias Paniki (ranked 3534 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steve is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Paniki.
Paniki lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Paniki takes a jab right on the kisser.
Paniki takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Paniki slips a jab from Steve.
Paniki with the counter takedown but Steve avoids it easily.
Steve blocks a jab.
Steve lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Paniki circles away quickly and effectively.
Paniki swings for the body but Steve moves out of range.
Paniki slips under a jab.
Steve takes a swing at Paniki's ribcage but misses.
A slapping leg kick lands for Paniki.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steve scores with a jab. Paniki acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Steve throws a hook to the side of Paniki's head but Paniki sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Paniki throws a nice looking combination but Steve bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Steve slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Paniki wants to clinch up but Steve keeps it at a distance.

Paniki lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Steve lands with a left to the head.
Paniki keeps control of Steve as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Steve lands a left hand that snaps the head of Paniki backwards.

and Steve counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Paniki lands a leg kick that knocks Steve off balance momentarily.
Paniki takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Paniki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Steve jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Paniki tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Steve manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Steve tries to keep at a distance but Paniki has taken the fight into the clinch.

Paniki tries to land knees in the clinch but Steve avoids the damage to the body.

Steve is looking to control Paniki's arms but Paniki gets an underhook and turns him. Now Steve has his back to the cage.

Paniki has Steve pressed against the cage, preventing Steve from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Steve lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

It looks like Elias Paniki has been cut.

Paniki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Steve cracks Paniki with a right hand to the side of the head.
Steve stuns Paniki with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Paniki is looking to clinch but Steve is avoiding it.
Steve misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Paniki.
Paniki wants to counter the offense by Steve and move into the clinch position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Paniki takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Steve throws a series of punches but Paniki avoids them all with ease.
Steve lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Paniki is rocked!
Paniki scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Paniki is still on wobbly legs! Can Steve finish him?
A left lands for Steve.
Steve bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
and Steve counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Paniki! He's just covering up as Steve starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
