Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Guilhaume Prevot (ranked 6717 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Binse (ranked 4426 p4p, 369 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Guilhaume Prevot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 26 - 1, fighting out of New York, Christopher Binse!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prevot wants to clinch up but Binse keeps it at a distance.
Binse doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Guilhaume Prevot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Prevot dodges the punch combination from Binse.
Binse looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Binse looks to land a combination but Prevot avoids it well.
Binse lands a nice leg kick that just misses Prevot's sensitive parts.
Prevot shoots in for a double leg but Binse sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Some wild striking there from Binse.
Binse's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Binse duly obliges.


It looks like Guilhaume Prevot has been cut.
Prevot looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Binse feints and then cracks Prevot's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Prevot down.
Prevot takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Prevot throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Despite the aggression on Binse's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Binse scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Binse connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Binse throws a series of strikes that have Prevot backpedaling.
Prevot's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Binse connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Prevot scrambles back to his feet.
Binse ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Binse scores with a three punch combo!
Prevot throws a series of punches but Binse avoids them all with ease.

Binse rushes Prevot and presses him up against the cage.

Prevot pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Prevot looks to land a combination but Binse avoids it well.
Binse throws a right hand that Prevot ducks under and follows up with a left that Prevot also avoids with ease.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Prevot definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Binse closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Binse lands in his opponent's guard.

Prevot pushes Binse off and scrambles back to his feet.

Prevot misses with a two punch combination.
Prevot tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Both fighters circling a little - Binse finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Binse manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Prevot decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Binse, up you get!

Binse lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Prevot is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Binse stays in close to Prevot's body and controls the position.
Binse would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Binse is pushing down on Prevot's leg trying to pass to half guard. Prevot is fighting to maintain full guard but Binse has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Binse postures up in Prevot's guard and throws a big left but Prevot blocks it.
Binse is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Prevot drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Binse gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Prevot is trying to maintain a safe position but Binse gets an underhook and turns Prevot into the cage.
Binse lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Prevot backwards.
Prevot is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Binse pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Prevot tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Binse ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Binse no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Binse is on top in guard.

Prevot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Binse on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Binse is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Binse wants to get up but he can't break Prevot's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee asks Binse politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Binse prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well Binse has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
