Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Sammich (ranked 499 p4p, 60 weight class) and Diego Bustamante (ranked 592 p4p, 73 weight class). Bustamante has chosen Here Comes The Boom! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bustamante misses with a straight left.
Sammich throws a lazy right hand but Bustamante sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bustamante's coach down at Lucky Liam's MMA Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bustamante's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bustamante. Sammich does a little dance to reset his feet.
A slapping leg kick lands for Bustamante.
Sammich uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bustamante.
Sammich throws a hook to the side of Bustamante's head but Bustamante sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bustamante comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Bustamante throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sammich scores with a one two! Bustamante had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Bustamante blocks a jab.
Bustamante tries to clinch but Sammich is having none of it.
Sammich appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Sammich thuds a left hand into Bustamante's body.
Sammich throws a jab when Bustamante was well out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Sammich misses the target.
Sammich blocks the body kick.
A little feinted left hand from Sammich on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Sammich throws a lazy body kick
and Bustamante counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
A head kick by Sammich misses
enabling Bustamante to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Sammy Sammich has been cut.

Bustamante takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Bustamante throws a series of strikes that have Sammich backpedaling.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bustamante throws a sloppy head kick and Sammich moves out of range easily.
Sammich misses with a hook to the body
and Bustamante counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Sammich throws a jab but it's blocked by Bustamante.

Sammich throws a body punch but Bustamante moves out of range.
Bustamante misses with a looping left.
Bustamante tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bustamante takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bustamante feints a counter leg kick.
Sammich misses with a leg kick.
And Bustamante responds with a good body kick, but Sammich manages to step out the way in time.
Bustamante does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bustamante misses with a body kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bustamante, right into the meat.
Sammich takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
An inside leg kick lands from Bustamante.
Bustamante scores with a punch to the head.
Bustamante drops Sammich with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Sammich looks back up at him and smiles so Bustamante waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Sammich is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sammich moves out of range of the leg kick from Bustamante.
Bustamante throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sammich misses with a body punch
and Bustamante counters with a huge left! Sammich is in big trouble! He's backing up but Bustamante isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Sammich from any more damage. A dominating finish by Bustamante!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diego Bustamante!
Diego Bustamante spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
