The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smash avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Maanantai rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smash moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Smash closes the distance and clinches.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Smash.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Maanantai.
Maanantai tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Maanantai tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Smash crunches a lovely knee into Maanantai's ribcage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smash changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Maanantai fights it off and pushes away nicely.

It looked like Smash was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
