Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leo Stout (ranked 7377 p4p, 0 weight class) and Art Splat (ranked 6225 p4p, 0 weight class). Leo Stout has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leo Stout!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Art Splat!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Splat does no damage.
Stout appears to be looking for a big counter.
Splat throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stout's waist but Stout gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Splat off to one side.

Stout has taken the fight to the clinch.
Splat is looking for a takedown.
Stout tries to pull guard but Splat forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Stout decides to pull guard.

Stout working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Splat doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Splat manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stout looking to hit a scissor sweep but Splat is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Splat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stout is on top in guard.

Splat is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Stout defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Splat slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Splat is trying to stick to Stout's back but Stout is turning into Splat. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Splat's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Stout.

Splat is looking to control Stout's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Splat avoid being mounted?

Stout is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Stout seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Splat does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Stout tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Splat manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Splat is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Splat manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stout manages to get himself to full guard.

Splat postures up in Stout's guard and throws a big left but Stout blocks it.
Splat postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Stout trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Splat controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Stout looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Splat passes into side control.
Splat working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Splat passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Stout!
Splat tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Stout is looking to improve his position but Splat isn't that keen on the idea.

Stout throws a strike from the bottom but Splat uses the opportunity to take his back.
Splat struggling to keep hold of the position.
Splat has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Splat is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Stout is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.

Art Splat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Splat shoots in but no luck this time.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stout looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Stout is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Splat tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stout defends well and Splat ends up having to push Stout into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Leo Stout has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Art Splat.

Stout clinches up with Splat and pushes him back against the cage.
Splat is trying to break the clinch but Stout is controlling him.

Stout misses with a head shot. Splat uses the momentum to regain guard.

Art Splat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Splat is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Stout's shoulder. That is not cool.

Stout is not content to let Splat control the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Stout is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Art Splat has got the better of the ground game so far.

Splat stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Splat shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stout sprawls well. Stout wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Splat gets slowly back to his feet.

and Splat counters with a right hand to the body.
Splat throws a right and a left that Stout avoids nicely.

Splat moves into the clinch.
Splat is trying to break the clinch but Stout has him pressed against the cage.

Stout tries to pull guard but Splat won't allow it.
Stout jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Splat walks away with a smile on his face. Stout gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Splat fails with the takedown.

Stout tries to keep at a distance but Splat has taken the fight into the clinch.
Stout stalling in the clinch but Splat improves position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stout tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Splat just stands there and leans against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Art Splat comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Splat has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
