Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Major Payne (ranked 1436 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leifi Plomeros (ranked 1126 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Plomeros's choice of entrance music: Ievan Polkka. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Plomeros takes the fight into the clinch.

Plomeros can't find room to land a body shot as Payne controls the action.
Plomeros goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

It looks like Major Payne has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Plomeros tries to throw a body punch but Payne avoids it by throwing Plomeros back against the cage.

Payne ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Plomeros throws an overhand right that lands on Payne's shoulder, as Payne tries to avoid the shot.
Payne uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Plomeros.

and Payne counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Payne swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Plomeros throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Plomeros gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Payne slips a nice elbow through Plomeros's hands, connecting with Plomeros's forehead.

Plomeros is looking to improve his position but Payne isn't that keen on the idea.
Payne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Plomeros really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Payne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Payne cracks Plomeros with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
