PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Light Heavyweight (ranked 65 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Ubereem (ranked 1635 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ubereem on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Heavyweight pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ubereem bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Heavyweight's head backwards.
Heavyweight ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ubereem throws a hook to the side of Heavyweight's head but Heavyweight sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

It looks like Jon Ubereem has been cut.

Heavyweight gets a clinch.
Heavyweight works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Ubereem tries to pull guard but Heavyweight holds him up against the cage and eventually Ubereem drops back down to his feet.
Ubereem can't get the takedown.
Ubereem jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Heavyweight walks away with a smile on his face. Ubereem gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Light Heavyweight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Ubereem.

Heavyweight has taken the fight to the clinch.

and Heavyweight counters with a nice uppercut.
Ubereem looks to throw the jab but Heavyweight is out of range.
Heavyweight looks to land a left hand but Ubereem moved out of range nicely.

Heavyweight has closed the distance and engaged Ubereem in a clinch.
Ubereem fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Ubereem takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Heavyweight misses the jab.
Heavyweight fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ubereem looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Heavyweight digs a good hook to Ubereem's body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ubereem is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Heavyweight.

Heavyweight cracks Ubereem with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Heavyweight has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Ubereem to stand back up!

That has opened up Jon Ubereem's cut even more.
Heavyweight swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Heavyweight clinches.
Ubereem wants to take the fight to the mat but Heavyweight manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Ubereem takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Heavyweight lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Heavyweight swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ubereem.

The cut above Jon Ubereem's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
A telegraphed right hand from Ubereem misses the target.
Heavyweight is looking to counter the offense by Ubereem and move into the clinch.

Heavyweight works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Ubereem tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Heavyweight stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Heavyweight lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Nice body punch from Heavyweight - that landed with a thud.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Heavyweight.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Heavyweight creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Ubereem is rocked!

Jon Ubereem's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
A left hand lands to the body for Heavyweight.

Heavyweight lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Ubereem is still on wobbly legs! Can Heavyweight finish him?

Heavyweight throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ubereems head.

Heavyweight drops Ubereem onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Ubereem is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jon Ubereem's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
