Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corwin Anstey (ranked 730 p4p, 108 weight class) and Marek Koltun (ranked 1465 p4p, 203 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corwin Anstey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 17 - 4, fighting out of Helsinki, Marek Koltun!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anstey misses the shot to the body.
A big right from Anstey misses.
Koltun defending well as Anstey loads up on a big left hand.
Anstey swings for the body but Koltun moves out of range.

Koltun scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Anstey wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Anstey tries to bench press Koltun off him but Koltun keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koltun has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Koltun is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Anstey has escaped the position, nice work there.

Koltun is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Anstey knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Koltun works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Anstey wants to get back to his feet.
Koltun has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Anstey regains half guard.
Koltun throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Anstey to regain full guard.

Anstey is pulling down on Koltun's head. It's preventing any offense from Koltun, at least for the moment.
Koltun trying to control but Anstey is working from the bottom.
Koltun in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Anstey is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Koltun is controlling him.
Koltun throws an elbow that misses. Anstey uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Koltun's guard. Nice move by Anstey!

Anstey wants to get up but he can't break Koltun's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Koltun looking to hit a scissor sweep but Anstey is one step ahead there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Anstey accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Anstey content to stall in guard here.
Koltun looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Koltun wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Anstey is now in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Koltun makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Koltun.
Koltun wants to sweep here but Anstey controlling him for the moment.
Koltun bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Anstey's guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Koltun throwing strikes but missing.
Koltun throws a big right hand that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Marek Koltun will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Koltun uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Anstey.
Corwin Anstey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Koltun scores with a decent looking hook.
Anstey looks to land a right hand but Koltun moved out of range.
Anstey takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Koltun feints and as Anstey raises his hands in defense, Koltun changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Koltun wants to control from the top but Anstey keeps moving.

Anstey pushes Koltun off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Koltun shoots in and drives through. Anstey sprawls well.
Anstey lands with a straight right. Koltun didn't see that one coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Anstey tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A combination from Anstey does no damage.
Anstey moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Anstey throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Koltun counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Anstey tries to kick Koltun off but Koltun keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Koltun uses his free foot to push down on Anstey's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Anstey.
Koltun unloads with some shots from mount but Anstey bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anstey is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Anstey is trying desperately to improve position.

Koltun is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Anstey can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Koltun prevents Anstey from getting the reversal.
Koltun lands with some strikes.
Anstey tries to reverse the position but Koltun maintains control.
Anstey tries to hold on but Koltun pushes him away.
Anstey tries to buck Koltun off but he can't manage it.
Koltun lands a big shot there that rocks Anstey but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.


Anstey is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Anstey's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Koltun has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Anstey's face.

Oh Anstey is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Whack. That's a big, big shot from Koltun! Anstey is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Marek Koltun!
A relieved looking Marek Koltun thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
