Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hannibal Barca (ranked 42 p4p, 7 weight class) and Grin Ribber (ranked 38 p4p, 6 weight class). Barca comes to the cage accompanied by Carthage. Ribber has chosen Ay Ay Ay as his entrance music. Hannibal Barca is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Columbo Gatti and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barca tries for a takedown but Ribber sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ribber throws out a loose jab but Barca uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ribber on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Barca looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Barca throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ribber sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Barca dives in and scores a takedown into Ribber's guard.

Ribber is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Barca is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ribber had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barca defends it easily.

Ribber bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Barca's guard.

Barca wants to sweep but no luck.

Barca escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ribber gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ribber is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ribber looks up at the clock and then as Barca takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ribber smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Barca looking for a sweep but Ribber has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Ribber cracks Barca with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Ribber lands a couple of good shots and Barca has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Barca rolls, trying to escape but Ribber keeps control of the position.

Ribber is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Barca grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
You can see the frustration on Barca's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

A lull in the action here.
Barca is in bad spot here.
Ribber connects with a big shot to the side of Barca's head.
Ribber lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Ribber keeps control of the position as Barca tries to break free.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ribber doesn't have the hooks in and Barca manages to turn into his guard.

Grin Ribber dominated that round.

Grin Ribber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ribber misses with an uppercut. Barca saw that one coming.
Barca throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Barca fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ribber to the ground. Barca is now in Ribber's guard.
Ribber is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ribber escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barca gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ribber has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barca can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ribber has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Barca should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Ribber has tightened it up now! Barca should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Grin Ribber started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
