The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petersen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Petersen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Petersen scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Turturro to see if he's OK.
Petersen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turturro keeps working.
Turturro has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Petersen in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

We've been hearing good reports from Petersen's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Petersen is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Turturro wants to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Petersen has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Turturro is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Petersen yanks on the arm and Turturro is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Petersen.

After winning the bout, Don Petersen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
