The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miguel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Boyd, pushing him back against the cage.
Boyd blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Boyd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Boyd has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Miguel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Boyd gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Miguel to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Boyd is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Miguel presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boyd tries to keep at a distance but Miguel has taken the fight into the clinch.

Miguel has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Boyd uses from the top position.

Miguel is looking for a triangle but Boyd pushes his legs off easily.
Boyd seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Boyd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Miguel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Miguel bucks up and tries to throw Boyd off but instead Boyd has got his back!
