Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Golden King (ranked 3069 p4p, 309 weight class) and Brian Roper (ranked 1097 p4p, 122 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Golden King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Roper!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with King, pushing him back against the cage.
King takes a shot to the head.
King blocks an uppercut.
Roper throws a punch but it's blocked by King.
King blocks a punch to the side of the head.
King blocks an uppercut.
King misses with a hook from the clinch.
Roper lands a right hand that snaps the head of King backwards.
King fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Roper lands with a right to the head.
King lands a left hand.
King is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Roper to keep the fight standing.
King lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Roper.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Roper tried to land a shot to the body but connects with King's elbow.

and Roper counters with a three punch combo that has King backing up. King nods at Roper to acknowledge the strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
King slips a straight right by Roper.

Roper's corner calls for a 1-2. Roper obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

It seemed like Roper was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Roper throws an overhand right that lands on King's shoulder, as King tries to avoid the shot.
Roper tries to bum rush King with a series of wild strikes but King uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Roper lands a jab to King's midsection.
King scores with a nice strike.
King has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Roper finds it's way round the side to connect with King's head.
Roper scores with the left hand. King knows he should have avoided that one.


King is rocked!
King throws a jab but it's blocked by Roper.
Roper misses with a body shot.
King takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Oh King is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
King is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Roper fails to land with a series of punches.
King seems to have got his legs back now.
Roper lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Nice uppercut lands for Roper. That snapped King's head back.
King staying out of range there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Roper sends King crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Roper is motioning to the referee to let King up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
King throws a looping overhand right but Roper ducks down to avoid it.
King ducks right into an uppercut from Roper.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roper lands a left and a right that send King crashing to the mat, dazed. Roper thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Roper connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between King's hands.
Golden King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
King takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brian Roper comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Roper has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
