The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mendes throws a sloppy head kick and Here moves out of range easily.
Mendes looks to score with a jab to the body but Here is just out of range.
Mendes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Here dives in and grabs Mendes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mendes pushes down on Here's head and hops out.
Mendes looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Here moves into the clinch.

A bit of stalling here from Here.

Here manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Mendes wants to stand and escape but instead Here has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mendes wants to stand but Here is controlling the position.
Here working some strikes from top position.
Mendes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Here is working Mendes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Here is standing up over Mendes. Mendes looks to escape but Here dives into side control.
Mendes is looking to get back to his feet here but Here is keeping cool and he's managed to take Mendes's back.
Here has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mendes's body.
Here seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mendes for as long as he can get away with.

Mendes is trying to defend against the choke here but Here has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Here Tightens the hold and Mendes taps out furiously! Here displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
