Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kris Lang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, TJ Hawkins!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hawkins closes the distance and clinches.
Lang is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Lang's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hawkins scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lang doesn't seem bothered though.

Hawkins shoots in and bounces Lang off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lang holds on and takes a little breather.

Hawkins is looking to stand up but Lang won't let him.
Lang is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawkins is trying to escape back to his feet but Lang uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Lang lands a decent elbow from side control.
Lang tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Lang throws a strike aimed at the side of Hawkins's head but Hawkins avoids it well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lang throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
An inside leg kick lands from Hawkins.
Lang misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lang takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hawkins throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lang stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hawkins thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lang if he has to take too many more of those.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lang or perhaps it was just good defense by Hawkins, which made it look bad.

Lang closes the distance and clinches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hawkins.

Lang pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lang looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lang misses with a body kick.
Lang tries for a takedown but Hawkins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hawkins lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Lang on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Kris Lang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hawkins looking to sit in guard and control but Lang gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lang has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hawkins is wriggling around but Lang manages to pass to half guard.

TJ Hawkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Hawkins takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hawkins gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hawkins can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lang lands a big shot there that rocks Hawkins but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kris Lang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hawkins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
BOOM! Lang connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hawkins is still in real trouble! Can Lang finish him?
Hawkins is bucking up trying to escape but Lang cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Lang is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hawkins can do to turn this around?

Lang pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Hawkins seems to have recovered his senses.
Lang lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hawkins hang on?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
