Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Earle Sawyer (ranked 6154 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Ford (ranked 4014 p4p, 125 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Ford!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sawyer scores with a sloppy right hand. Ford should have avoided that one.
Ford looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sawyer is fending him off so far but Ford persists. Nope, Sawyer circles away and we're back to standing.

Ford looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Sawyer looking for a sweep. Not yet Sawyer, not yet.
Ford trying to control but Sawyer is working from the bottom.
Sawyer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ford won't allow Sawyer to sweep him here.

Sawyer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ford is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ford gets to his feet. Sawyer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ford closes the distance and clinches up with Sawyer, looking for a takedown. Ford pushes Sawyer against the cage but Sawyer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It looked like Sawyer was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Ford tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sawyer defends well and Ford ends up having to push Sawyer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Earle Sawyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Ford.

Ford looks for a takedown but Sawyer sprawls well.
Ford is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sawyer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sawyer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ford manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ford drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Sawyer defends it well.
Ford shoots for a double leg takedown but Sawyer sprawls well. He's pushed Ford's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The referee is keeping an eye on Sawyer - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Ford jumps guard but Sawyer turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ford is pulling down on Sawyer's head. It's preventing any offense from Sawyer, at least for the moment.
Sawyer distracts Ford with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Sawyer is fighting to break Ford's control of his arms but Ford is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Sawyer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ford works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ford is looking to sweep but instead, Sawyer has passed into half guard.

Sawyer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ford wants to improve his position but Sawyer is controlling well.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sawyer connects with a nice short shot to Ford's temple.
Ford is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Earle Sawyer dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Ford on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Sawyer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ford can do to turn this around?
Sawyer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ford circles away quickly and effectively.
Nice sprawl there from Sawyer as Ford shoots in.

and Sawyer counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Ford changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sawyer fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sawyer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ford.

so Sawyer counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sawyer postures up and lands a big shot to Ford's brow.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sawyer's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Sawyer cracks Ford with a solid left hand.


Ford is rocked!

Sawyer arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Ford's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Earle Sawyer!
The defeated Rob Ford had this to say: 'I am still learning. I will get right back into the gym and continue to improve my ground game'.
