Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ibbe Ribbler (ranked 2099 p4p, 236 weight class) and Herbert Burns (ranked 1670 p4p, 197 weight class). Ribbler comes to the cage accompanied by Bad Religion - Infected. Burns has chosen Marcelo D2 Claudia - Desabafo Deixa Eu Dizer as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Ibbe Ribbler has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Herbert Burns!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribbler tries to clinch up

and Burns counters with a shoot takedown. Ribbler fights it but they end up in guard.
Ribbler pulls Burns in close to prevent any damage.

We've been hearing good reports from Ribbler's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Burns working his ground and pound in the gym.
Burns uses his free foot to push down on Ribbler's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ribbler.
Burns throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Ribbler because Burns loaded up on that one.
Burns throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Ribbler takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Burns takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Burns has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ribbler throws out a loose jab but Burns uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Ribbler counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Burns is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Ribbler moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ibbe Ribbler!
Ibbe Ribbler took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
Herbert Burns spoke after the fight, saying 'I will be back stronger and my next opponent better watch out! '.
