Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juan Fonseca (ranked 4604 p4p, 458 weight class) and Dave Monson (ranked 3156 p4p, 330 weight class). Dave Monson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juan Fonseca!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dave Monson!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fonseca uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Monson has time to react.
Monson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Monson staying out of range there.
Fonseca keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Monson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Fonseca is out of range.
Fonseca moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Monson shoots in looking for a takedown. Fonseca tries to sprawl out of it but Monson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fonseca manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fonseca fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Monson checks it well.
Monson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fonseca cracks Monson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Monson sizes up Fonseca with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
We've been told by Fonseca's head coaches at Combat Muay Thai that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

The fighters circle momentarily. Monson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Monson dives in for a single leg takedown but Fonseca sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Monson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fonseca's guard.
